The Next Step is a school-based intervention programme created by a group of neurodivergent mothers
who have experienced first-hand the challenges faced by their own children within the education system. This initiative supports young people who are at risk of becoming NEET, Neurodivergent or struggling to engage with mainstream education. We work with students and their families to offer guidance, opportunity and a genuine stepping stone into a more positive future.
Neurodivergent children are often misunderstood, unsupported, or sidelined in traditional education settings and that's why we have developed strong and proven support systems to keep our young people engaged in mainstream education.

We support parents through relaxed coffee mornings, online groups, and practical guidance on navigating the EHCP process. Whether you're looking for advice, connection, or simply someone who understands, we're here to empower families with the tools and confidence to advocate for their children.
We bring the real world into schools through employer-led sessions, inspiring talks from relatable role models, and hands-on work experience tasters. Our aim is to support students in exploring future pathways with confidence, curiosity and a clear sense of what’s possible beyond the classroom.
We partner with schools to deliver a tailored service, mediation sessions, progress reports and clear outcome evaluations. Our team also supports behaviour management and pupils with unmet or undiagnosed SEN, working closely with staff and families to identify underlying needs and reduce the risk of exclusion. Our ultimate aim is to keep students engaged in learning.
Our work supports communities by reducing the risk of youth crime through early intervention. By connecting young people with meaningful opportunities, mentorship, and real-life role models, we help them stay engaged in education and build positive futures away from criminal pathways.
Our mentoring service offers weekly one-to-one sessions led by experienced coaches and business owners. Each mentor brings empathy, real-world insight and a practical approach to helping young people build confidence, independence and future-ready life skills that workplaces are crying out for.
Our partnership with a martial arts school offers young people a unique outlet to build discipline, confidence and emotional regulation. Through structured physical activity, students develop respect, resilience, and self-control - key skills that support behaviour, mental wellbeing and positive engagement both in and out of school.
