Some children arrive at school carrying more than a backpack.
Whether they’re grieving a bereavement, adjusting to a family illness, or navigating the aftermath of divorce or domestic abuse, these young people often face invisible barriers to learning. The upheaval in their home lives can lead to emotional distress, behaviour changes, and struggles with school engagement—especially during key transitions like starting secondary school.
Many are starting secondary school or trying to stay engaged in learning despite overwhelming personal challenges. For teenagers, this could be a time of shame amongst friendship groups, challenges on social media and in their communities.
At Bright Path, we provide school behaviour and emotional support for children affected by life changing events.
Our relational, trauma-informed approach helps children feel safe and supported in school environments.
We can work alongside your school and ensure their educational and emotional needs are not overlooked during this difficult time.
